Position Description

Ryder is currently looking to fill a Permanent Full Time Fleet Maintenance Technician position within their Truck Fleet division at Torque.

Requirements:

  • A preference is given to candidates with a high school diploma or its equal
  • It is recommended to possess a vocational or professional diploma
  • More than a four-year span dedicated to a combination of classroom sessions and real-world job exposure
  • Class E License for NonCommercial Drivers: This classification denotes a driver's license that is solely for non-commercial purposes
  • Preference is for applicants who hold a Commercial Driver License of CLASS A
  • It is necessary to hold a state-issued driver's license as mandated
  • Ability to:
  • Grasp and conform to the Company guidelines in all domains
  • Foster and manage professional associations within all sectors of the organization, encompassing coworkers, teams, clients, and supervisors
  • Carry out responsibilities on one's own and work collectively in a team setting
  • Displays adeptness in handling customer inquiries
  • Solid verbal and written communication expertise
  • Able to manage numerous tasks efficiently, displaying great organization and time management capabilities
  • Complete Preventive Maintenance activities PM230 and PM298 within 90 days to maintain equipment reliability
  • Air brake systems (BA220&BA298) need to undergo inspection every 90 days
  • Experts responsible for assessing and servicing brakes following FMCS 396.25 guidelines
  • It is recommended to employ the Hydraulic Brake (BH220&BH298) within a 90-day period
  • The return window for the Tire & Wheel TW220 is limited to 90 days
  • The training and qualification deadlines for CF609 and A/C specialists according to AC220 and AC298 are set at 180 days
  • Battery Charging and Testing, Warranty Information
  • The project DR208 assigned to HD electrical must be accomplished within 90 days
  • SBTIII training for Island Support, including the specific module SBT220, mandates completion of Phase 2 within a 180-day timeframe
  • At least two online courses focusing on engines are required for OEMs
  • Exhibits the versatility necessary to excel in a quick-moving and vibrant atmosphere
  • Excellent organizational skills

This position requires for you to drive Ryder vehicles. In order to become a Ryder employee you must:

  • Manage to pass a Ryder drug examination
  • Complete a Department of Transportation physical exam
  • Meet the requirements to pass the Ryder road evaluation
  • Meet the requirements for a Ryder background evaluation, which encompasses a motor vehicle check and validation of drug and alcohol history with your previous employers from the past three years

Responsibilities

  • Undertakes detailed assessments, repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance for clients outside of contractual arrangements.
  • Execute standard car maintenance duties including tune-ups, oil replacements, tire swaps, changing fuel filters, inspecting fluids, aligning wheels, substituting basic suspension elements, and renewing light assemblies and mirrors.
  • Competence in the examination, restoration, or renewal of engines, encompassing alternators, starters, radiators, injectors, transmissions, and various fuel constituents.
  • Evaluating hydraulic brake systems, making repairs where necessary, and installing new parts as required.
  • Could be based in a mobile repair vehicle and drive to customer premises in an allocated region.
  • Possess a general familiarity with the range of products and services provided by Torque.
  • Form a relationship with the customer on behalf of Torque/Ryder to enhance engagement.
  • Maximize the key functionalities provided by Salesforce and electronic documentation tools at your disposal. Properly document work orders, customer approvals for repairs, and repair notes using Salesforce.
  • Complete environmental tasks, including site inspections, waste disposal, and managing vehicle chemicals while receiving guidance and instructions.
  • Follow the prescribed federal, regional, and corporate guidelines to maintain compliance standards.
  • Complete any supplementary assignments given.
